Hands For Haiti
Photograph

“Hands for Haiti” portrays the way Johanna daily seeks and serves Christ. Several years ago she began knitting and crocheting baby layette items to sell, with all proceeds going to support the needy in Haiti. As she expanded her handiwork to include shawls, fingerless gloves, purses and other adult items, people throughout the town became aware of her ministry and began donating garbage bags full of yarn for her use. With donated yarn and Johanna’s donation of her time, all proceeds are contributed to relief work in Haiti. In recent years, two houses and a well have been funded through Johanna’s tireless efforts. Mostly housebound, she spends her days (and often times nights when she can’t sleep) knitting and crocheting as she seeks to serve Christ by using her hands for her neighbors in Haiti.
