August Moon
Acrylic on Canvas
48 by 24 inches

I cultivated the moon flowers in my painting all summer long, photographing and sketching them from every angle as they bloomed in the dark. In August, the moonlight illuminated a silhouette of the palm tree, surrounded by the graceful white ephemeral blossoms on my patio. God made this perfect night, and inspired me to paint a magical garden nymph in blue, celebrating the loveliness of the August night.
