Exploring Turtle Island

Every day brings new views of God’s creation. Yet for so many things visible to us on this earth, there are many more we seldom see beneath the waters. I enjoyed creating this piece as I thought about how other species might live. The materials are various fabrics and yarns that I hand-sewed and embroidered, and then I machine quilted the entire piece. My hope is that people will look on the beauty of God’s creation with fresh eyes, and remember that every day is good for exploring.
