(Craft and Soul)
Mixed Media Art Quilt

This quilt was made for the 2010 "Hearts, Hands, and Heritage" Quilt Competition held by the H.E.R.E. project at Rice University, Houston. Third place winner.

The inspiration for this quilt was the three words of the title of the competition but most specially the word “heritage.” It made me think of the creativity of the Mexican artisans, the Bicentennial celebration of the Mexican Independence on September 16, 2010, my own heritage, and my love of textile art.
