And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them. ...And by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night ...They carried the Ark of the Covenant. Moses had been given the specifications for its construction by Yahweh.  (Exodus 25: 10-22)

 

It was at a particular time during Bible Study taught by Father Ard, former priest at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, that I felt the inspiration to paint about God leading the Hebrews out of bondage from Egypt into the Promise Land.
