Star and Gem of Earth and Sky

This icon combines the theme of the Star of Bethlehem with that of a many-faceted diamond of great value. The diamond is also symbolic of the adamantine character of the union of divine and human in Jesus Christ of whom Mary is the mother. The diamond as pure carbon also represented a primary element found throughout the earth and all living things.
