The Sixth Station of the Cross:

Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus.

Black oil-based etching ink on Rives BFK Tan Paper.

Printmaking (Traditional Etching: Intaglio, Aquatint & Drypoint)

2011; three limited hand-pulled editions of ten prints each.

Framed Size is 11 inches high by 14 inches wide.

 

This hand-pulled print is a part of my second STATIONS OF THE CROSS, which will all be executed as etchings. The STATIONS OF THE CROSS is a Lenten Meditational tool used in Episcopal and Roman Churches to contemplate Christ’s Passion; traditionally, there are fourteen stations (scenes related to the Good Friday Story of Jesus).
