Norwich, Contemplative
Julian of Norwich (depicted here with the cat with whom she shared the prayerful solitude of her anchorhold) embodied an unshakeable trust in the God who created us in love for love, and was able to see beyond “the sufferings of this present age to the glory that shall be revealed” when this God in Christ, who is “our Father, Mother, Maker, Keeper, and Lover” will one day in love “make all things well.”
May her vision of this certain and sure hope be our strength as it was hers.
