The Last Supper Series
18 x 18 inches egg tempera

I used the original icon of the Last Supper as a motif, a symbol to express what I understood as one of the messages experienced in communion. Simply put, if we do not learn to eat and live as one body in harmony, as a family and a nation we have missed one of the Great teachings of Christ. I have removed the Christ figure because it is my understanding that Christ “IS” the table we all come to, he is the host in the Eucharist for the Christian however all cultures have formed rituals that involve coming together as one people. Although I have only three nations represented here, the teaching is for the entire world and all of us in it.
