Sacred Rhythms: a Call to Artists from
Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington, KY
Exhibition Date: November 9, 2014
to January 5, 2015

This Call is for artists responding to the theme of Sacred Rhythms. We invite your original creativity. Some ideas about this theme might include: music, seasons, night and day, dance, natural settings, earth, sea and sky. Liturgical rhythm is directed by the religious calendar with seasons like Advent, Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost. Spiritual rhythm is directed by cycles of joy and sorrow, birth, life and death, striving, and equanimity.

This call is open to adult artists utilizing any medium.

Art at the Cathedral (AATC) is a voluntary committee made up of art lovers within the church and community. Our goal is to provide sacred space for artists who feel that visual art is one of their modes of spirituality. Artists of many different faiths participate in the exhibitions. Gallery hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and also by special request.
